WE’RE HIRING: IN HOUSE CREATIVE EXECUTIVE
Company: 2911 Books
Location: Lagos, Nigeria
Employment Type: Full Time, In House
Role: In House Creative Executive
ABOUT 2911 BOOKS
2911 Books is a growing faith, personal development and lifestyle publishing brand creating products designed to help people grow spiritually, think differently, live intentionally and become better versions of themselves.
Our name is culled from the scripture in Jerimiah 29:11 and also the founder's birthday 29th November.
Our growing product range includes Bibles, prayer journals, devotionals, workbooks, planners, prayer books, children’s resources, affirmation cards, scripture artwork and other transformational resources.
As the brand grows, we are looking for a highly creative, intelligent and proactive person who can become deeply involved in how 2911 Books is presented, experienced and communicated to the world.
We are looking for someone who sees possibilities everywhere.
Someone who can look at one product and immediately begin thinking about different ways we could present it, talk about it, demonstrate it, tell stories around it, create conversations around it and make people want to experience it for themselves.
Someone who enjoys ideas, creativity, social media, storytelling, visual presentation, campaigns and bringing concepts to life.
If that sounds like how your brain naturally works, keep reading.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The In House Creative Executive will work closely with the Founder of 2911 Books, Mrs Bowale to develop and execute creative ideas across the brand.
A significant part of the role involves working directly with the Founder as ideas are developed.
Sometimes the Founder will already have an idea and need someone who can understand the vision, expand it, organise it and help bring it to life.
Other times, you will both sit together and brainstorm from scratch.
You may be looking at a new product and asking:
How do we introduce this?
What story can we tell around it?
What would make someone stop scrolling?
What questions are our customers already asking?
How can we demonstrate this product naturally?
What could we film today?
What series could we create around this?
What could make this campaign memorable?
What would make someone share this?
How can we communicate the value of this product without repeatedly saying the same thing?
Your responsibility is to participate actively in those conversations and help move the ideas from thought to execution.
You will become deeply familiar with the 2911 Books brand, products, customers, voice and vision so that over time, you are able to recognise creative opportunities without always waiting for the Founder to identify them first.
This role requires someone who can THINK and DO.
We want someone who can contribute ideas in a brainstorming session in the morning and help execute those ideas later that day.
THIS IS A FULL TIME IN HOUSE POSITION
Please read this carefully before applying.
This role is for someone who wants to join the 2911 Books team as a full time member of staff and become invested in building the brand.
The role requires your primary professional commitment during agreed working hours.
You will work closely with the Founder and other members of the team, and there will be times when you will need to be physically present for shoots, meetings, launches, events, creative sessions and other brand activities.
Because of the nature of the role, you must be based in Lagos and comfortable moving around Lagos when required for work.
There will also be times when content opportunities happen naturally while the Founder is attending meetings, visiting locations, reviewing products, preparing for launches or simply going about parts of her workday. You should be able to recognise those moments and think creatively about how they can become useful brand assets.
We are building an internal creative capability within 2911 Books and are looking for someone who genuinely wants to become part of that journey.
YOUR CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
1. CREATIVE IDEATION
You will work closely with the Founder to generate fresh ideas for 2911 Books.
This includes brainstorming concepts for product campaigns, launches, social media, Reels, short videos, storytelling, educational pieces, promotional ideas, seasonal campaigns, founder led communication, behind the scenes moments and other ways of keeping the brand fresh and interesting.
We expect you to contribute.
You should be comfortable saying:
“I have an idea.”
“What if we tried this?”
“I saw something that gave me an idea for 2911.”
“We could turn this into a series.”
“I think there’s another angle we could use.”
You will regularly research what is happening across social media, publishing, lifestyle brands, faith brands, retail, e commerce and culture to identify interesting formats, conversations and creative ideas that could inspire our work.
The expectation is thoughtful adaptation, originality and strong creative judgement.
2. TURNING IDEAS INTO EXECUTABLE CONCEPTS
Good ideas are valuable when they become something tangible.
Once an idea has been agreed, you will help determine what is required to execute it.
That could include:
-
Developing the concept.
-
Thinking through the format.
-
Creating simple shot lists.
-
Identifying products needed for the shoot.
-
Thinking about locations.
-
Preparing props.
-
Suggesting hooks.
-
Organising references and inspiration.
-
Planning what needs to be filmed.
-
Preparing talking points where necessary.
-
Thinking through different versions of the same concept.
-
Coordinating with editors, designers, photographers or other team members where required.
Following through until the idea is completed.
You should naturally think beyond “this is a good idea” and begin asking, “What needs to happen to make this real?”
3. SOCIAL MEDIA CREATIVE EXECUTION
A major part of your role will involve helping 2911 Books maintain a strong, active and interesting presence across social media.
You should understand platforms such as Instagram and TikTok and have a genuine interest in how people consume digital media.
You will help us think through:
-
Reels.
-
Short form video.
-
Product demonstrations.
-
Founder led videos.
-
Educational content.
-
Storytelling.
-
Behind the scenes content.
-
Customer focused content.
-
Lifestyle content.
-
Product based series.
-
Campaigns.
-
Launch content.
-
Social media stories.
-
Creative promotional ideas.
-
Trending formats that are relevant to the brand.
You should understand that every product can be communicated from several angles and that strong brands do not rely on repeating the same sales message every day.
4. SHOOTING AND CAPTURING CONTENT
You will regularly work alongside the Founder during planned content days and spontaneous creative moments.
You should be comfortable using a smartphone to capture strong, clean and usable photos and videos.
You do not need to be a professional cinematographer.
You do need to understand framing, angles, lighting, composition, basic visual quality and how content should be captured for platforms such as Instagram and TikTok.
You should be able to look at an environment and quickly identify what could make a good shot.
You should also be comfortable helping direct simple shoots by suggesting angles, movements, scenes, product positioning and additional shots we may need.
For larger productions, we may work with specialist photographers, videographers or other creatives. You will still play an important role in helping us plan and coordinate the creative direction.
5. WORKING CLOSELY WITH THE FOUNDER
This is an important part of the position.
You will work directly with the Founder on many creative projects.
You need to be comfortable around someone who generates ideas quickly, thinks out loud, changes direction when a stronger idea emerges and expects things to move.
You must be able to listen carefully, understand the heart of an idea and help translate it into something practical.
There may be days when you accompany the Founder to different locations in Lagos because there are opportunities to shoot, create, research, visit a location or execute an idea.
You should enjoy this kind of dynamic environment.
You also need enough confidence to bring your own thinking into the room.
We want a person who can contribute intelligently to an idea, ask useful questions, suggest improvements and notice things that other people may overlook.
6. CREATIVE RESEARCH
You will actively research ideas and inspiration for the brand.
You may be asked to research:
-
Interesting campaigns.
-
Social media trends.
-
Creators.
-
Publishing brands.
-
Retail brands.
-
Book marketing ideas.
-
Product photography concepts.
-
Launch ideas.
-
Locations.
-
Visual references.
-
Hooks and formats.
-
Audience conversations.
-
Creative activations.
-
Emerging social media behaviours.
The goal is to keep 2911 Books creatively current while maintaining a distinct identity.
We are interested in people who naturally observe what is happening around them and think about how those observations could become ideas.
7. CAMPAIGNS AND PRODUCT LAUNCHES
2911 Books regularly releases and promotes different products.
You will help us think creatively about how these products enter the market.
For example, if we are launching a new journal, Bible, prayer book or children’s product, we may need weeks of different creative angles around that one release.
You will help develop the creative ecosystem around launches rather than treating every product as a single post.
That might include teasers, product reveals, demonstrations, founder stories, educational pieces, customer scenarios, lifestyle imagery, videos, campaign concepts, behind the scenes footage, social media stories and other creative assets.
8. CONTENT AND CREATIVE ORGANISATION
Creativity also requires organisation.
You will help us maintain visibility over what we are creating, what has already been captured, what still needs to be produced and what ideas are waiting to be developed.
You may help maintain:
-
Idea banks.
-
Creative calendars.
-
Shoot lists.
-
Campaign folders.
-
References.
-
Product content lists.
-
Upcoming launch requirements.
-
Asset libraries.
-
Lists of videos still requiring editing.
-
Creative priorities for the week or month.
-
We need someone who enjoys ideas but can also keep enough structure around those ideas so that good concepts do not disappear into WhatsApp conversations or Notes folders.
9. SUPPORTING CREATIVE EXECUTION ACROSS THE BRAND
Your creative involvement may extend beyond social media.
As 2911 Books grows, there may be opportunities to contribute ideas to:
-
Product launches.
-
Photoshoots.
-
Retail experiences.
-
Pop ups.
-
Events.
-
Packaging concepts.
-
Campaigns.
-
Brand partnerships.
-
Customer experiences.
-
Website creative.
-
Promotional materials.
-
Books and product presentation.
-
New product concepts.
-
Brand activations.
Your role will continue evolving as the company grows, so we need someone excited by the opportunity to build rather than someone looking for an extremely narrow job description.
